The Empty Ice Cream Bowl

Hello, I’m back with another poem which started from a random thought in my mind. So, without further ado, here it is, and hope you like it!!!

                                                        The Empty Ice Cream Bowl

It was a hot summer day

Bright sunshine made its presence felt

I was eating an ice cream, had nothing to say

The heat was strong, it took a minute to melt

There was also some chocolate sauce

On that previously frosty vanilla ice cream

Oh! How refreshing it was!

Felt like some happy dream

As it was so tasty

In another two minutes

The bowl was empty

Suddenly my mind was back

to the place where I was sitting

I was feeling upset and was taken aback

Too bad, reality seemed unfitting

I looked at the bowl

It seemed like my reality somehow

I thought I should go for a stroll

I turned my neck around, looked out of the window and wow!

Found a pretty hibiscus, a deep red in colour

It’s alluring petals faced towards me

In a moment I could feel my gloom disappear

And now a new idea made me see

Reason says the bowl is filled with air

Air that eyes cannot see

So is I thought such small happiness

Hidden in flowers, ice creams and what not

Too easy to be ignored and deemed something less

And  I felt happy again and why to just sulk and rot?
